17 October 18 -Tournon, France

Bordering the Rhône, opposite the Tain-l'Hermitage vineyards, stands the welcoming little town of Tournon-sur-Rhône, overlooked by the outline of the imposing 10th, 15th and 16th century Castle.

You can admire this harmonious scene in peace from the Marc Seguin footbridge....

This morning I had a room service breakfast in my cabin, croissants, coffee and orange juice were enough for me today. This was the view from my cabin this morning.

By 10AM we were off to visit these little twin towns.

After our tour of both sides of the river and both towns we went to a wine tasting of the region. I had the most incredible wines from the Shiraz grapes with this delicious creamy cheese on fresh crusty warm bread which unfortunately is only locally available.

After the wine tasting I slowly walked back to the ship, it was a nice warm Fall day in this sleepy little town. I stopped at a park and spoke to some locals... it was a nice morning.

Once at the ship these little guys were waiting. . . .

It was an hour before lunchtime so I relaxed watching the French countryside slowly slide by.Lunch was delicious, I had something I never had before, Veal Wellington....soooo good. The food on this ship is truly amazingly delicious. This afternoon it was a nice luxury to read a bit and then take a nap for a few hours in my fluffy duvet. Ready for dinner. . . . .

Dinner was awesome tonight . . . . . .

Vol aux vent, onion soup, salmon and a super milles feuilles:

And here is my doggy for Tournon. . . . . .
